There's an interesting piece about spiral galaxies on the S&T website.

Here's a link in case you have not seen it yet: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/news/84476312.html?imw=Y

G'day Grinz,

Interesting article which seems to ask more questions than it answers. I realize that this is part of the scientific method, yet it tends to make me figity...

Whew! So much to take in as usual, dark matter, dark enery, and that all elusive one Gravity.

Do we need to so clasify galaxies? As so many try to clasify the human race (on a smaller scale)? This one is a spiral, this one is globular ... this person is from Asia, this person is from Sweden, this one from South Africa and onother from U.S.    I think you all can get where I am going, sometimes "classing" may not tell the tale of birth. Birth. Beginnings. We on planet earth come from many through time. So does all else, galaxies included in our universe and others (in my belief of many).

I dislike labels with humans, animals etc. I am coming to dislike labels for all life. Labels are for food products, chemicals, etc. things that we need to buy. Labels are not for living things. Galaxies live. Let us not label them also.

In addition, so Glad our friend Hubble is still working strong and happy!!! Love Hubble, our computer robot friend of another kind of life that has given so much and s'more yet to come. ~ Robin
